Every year, the Kidney Cancer Association hosts our signature Challenge event in cities across the US. The Challenge reflects the number of people estimated to be diagnosed with kidney cancer in a given year. In 2024, nearly 82,000 people will be diagnosed with kidney cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.

These staggering statistics inspire the KCA, patients, and the community in our largest peer-to-peer fundraising initiative to raise hope, awareness, and funds that will directly impact kidney cancer research.

The 2024 82K Challenge kicks off in March during Kidney Cancer Awareness Month and wraps up on June 20th – World Kidney Cancer Day.

The Kidney Cancer Association invites you to help us raise $82,000 to support research and honor people diagnosed with kidney cancer. Your support during the challenge this year will help fund groundbreaking research around the world, further our understanding of rare kidney cancers, and fund research projects with a data-driven approach to real-world evidence.

The 82K Challenge is for everyone! We want you to get creative and set a goal based on what you love. Ride your bike 8.2 miles, run for 82 minutes, spend 8.2 hours meditating – with a little imagination, there are no limits. No matter what you choose to do or how much money you raise, you’ll be joining a community of change-makers working to find a cure for kidney cancer.

Challenge participants have raised funds doing everything from biking to walking to an enormous neighborhood hopscotch.

Participating is easy, and top fundraisers get special prizes!
