Event Highlights – My favorite part of the event is that we have so many individuals that donate. We had over 80 donors and I love that my entire community gets involved $25 at a time!
The turn out was amazing! The weather was not very good but everyone came out anyways! Having the shelter house rented helped tremendously.
What advice do you have for other event captains?
Get started early, and promote, promote, promote! I started soliciting for sponsorship about 6 months prior to the event and started promoting the event in March as part of Kidney Cancer Awareness Month. I ordered t-shirts 2 weeks in advance.
I also had the QR code printed for easier sign-ups on the day of the event!
