Team Captain – Sarah Tuck, Senior Manager of Patient Programs for the KCA. Sarah’s grandmother, Patricia Rutter, was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2018 and passed away in 2023.

Event Highlights – Pulling up to the event and seeing all these young kids and young adults rocking orange!

What advice do you have for other event captains?

Pick a fun and engaging activity that YOU like to do and people will come because they will see it is genuine!

I secured a lot of giveaways and swag to hand out at the event, which definitely boosted attendance. I included a QR code for people to donate, which they took advantage of! And work on securing sponsors early as most have a lengthy process.

Find an activity that you are passionate about, and there is absolutely a way to tie it into a KCA Challenge.
