What was your favorite highlight from the event?
Whenever somebody not with us would ask what we were up to. Seeing a group of college students all dressed in orange hiking together made us stand out and many people would stop us to ask. I loved sharing what it was and explaining the cause.
What would you do differently for your next KCA Regional Challenge event?
The event ended up being only those which I know personally and did not have any attendees outside of this. I would promote the event much heavier to reach audiences outside of my personal community. I would try speaking to local hospitals to increase awareness as well as gaining sponsorships.
I would love to make this event I did this year and in 2025 a tradition that happens in the spring of each year and to grow it with every year I do it.
What advice do you have for other event hosts?
Invite everybody! Whether it is coworkers or local hospital networks, I would try to get as many attendees as possible.
