Dr. Daniel J. George will receive the Nicholas J. Vogelzang Humanitarian Award for his service to kidney cancer patients and his contributions to kidney cancer care, advocacy, and awareness. Dr. George is a medical oncologist at the Duke Cancer Institute and the Eleanor Easley Distinguished Professor in the Duke University School of Medicine. He Chairs the KCA’s Medical Steering Committee and is a member of the KCA’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Naomi Haas will receive the KCA’s Eugene P. Schonfeld Award, named for the KCA’s founder, for her contributions to oncology and kidney cancer treatment. Dr. Haas is the Director of the Prostate and Kidney Cancer Program at Penn Medicine and Professor of Medicine (Hematology-Oncology) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. David Braun will receive the Christopher G. Wood Rising Star Award, which recognizes talented young kidney cancer experts in honor of the KCA’s late Board Chair and friend, Dr. Christopher G. Wood. Dr. Braun is a medical oncologist at Yale Cancer Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine.
